Where Did All The Fat Go Review
What You Should Know
The Biggest Loser is a huge television phenomenon where morbidly obese people sign on to workout for hours a day, quit smoking and eat lean, healthy fare all while competing to be the Biggest Loser. The doctor on the show, Dr. Huizenga, has watched and learned and now he has written Where Did All the Fat Go?
There is no official website for Dr. Huizenga or the Where Did All the Fat Go book. NBC does offer a bio on the author and the book can be purchased from Amazon.com for $17.79 at the time of this review.
List of Ingredients
Specific instructions on how to lose weight like the contestants on the Biggest Loser.
Product Features
One of the biggest advocates of the Where Did All the Fat Go book is Matthew McNutt. Matthew is a former contestant on the biggest loser and currently runs his very own blog site complete with Biggest Loser style weight loss programs. While McNutt is clearly swayed by his connection with the author, other third party reviews are not so positive.
According to Dr. Huizenga, the body needs to be worked at 120% all the time. Workouts need to continue 7 days a week and there is no time for resting on his plan. The diet aspect of the plan is not discussed as much as the fitness portion. The Dr claims that walking and jogging are the two best ways to lose weight ñ or better put ñ the only two ways to work out. The dieter should work out a minimum of 2 hours every day. This can be very hard for someone who has children and a full time job to fit in there too!
The medical suggestions for the dieter following the Where Did All the Fat Go plan are a bit crazy. Sure, the family physician should be seen before starting any new fitness program, but Dr. Huizenga suggest using a Bod Pod and / or hydrostatic weighing with the program. Most doctors will not have access to this equipment and most insurances will not cover the tests.
Advantages
- The author has experience with obese and morbidly obese people.
- The program calls for regular exercise.
- Walking is one of the preferred exercises.
Disadvantages
- Working out 2 hours a day may be too time consuming for many people.
- The program may be too intense for the beginner.
- There is not much reference to food choice in the online literature.
Conclusion
We support using diet and exercise to lose weight, but this program seems a bit intense for an at home program. The dieter is supposed to move from not exercising at all in some cases to exercising 2 hours a day. This can be very hard on the body and could cause a very fast burn out with no weight loss. The Biggest Loser works because there are trainers there pushing the contestants 100% of the time. This is not the case at home and thus is just not suitable for everyone.
