Provida Labs is a company dedicated to products designed for weight loss. The Provida website provides a list of the company products with the option to purchase directly from the supplier. There is also a link to two different diet programs; the popular 6-Week Body Makeover created by Michael Thurmond and the Smart Technique Automatic Fat Loss program, which appears to deal more with the motivational side of weight loss. Many of the Provida products also relate to Thurmond’s weight loss program, including supplements and cookbooks created specifically to work with the 6-Week and 6-Day Body Makeover plans.

The Provida product line is a diverse one that includes supplements, books, fitness equipment and motivational materials. The website is easy to navigate and provides information on each of the products. However, we were disappointed to find that complete ingredient lists were not included for each product, especially the weight loss supplements. We believe that this information is essential if consumers are to determine the safety and effectiveness of their weight loss products. The website does offer customer testimonials, but all of them directly reference the 6-Week Body Makeover.

The prices for the Provida products range from about $17 for resistance bands to $119 for the complete 6-Week Body Makeover program. There is a money back guarantee of the program that states if you do not lose up to 30 pounds in six weeks, you can receive a complete refund on your purchase. Note that the wording states up to 30 pounds, meaning that any weight loss in six weeks may negate the money back guarantee offer. While we appreciate that Provida offers such a guarantee, we would prefer that the wording of the guarantee would be clearer to allow consumers peace of mind when shopping for Provida products.

The 6-Week Body Makeover has been a popular weight loss program. While we are pleased to see the company incorporates diet,exercise and supplementation into their weight loss program, we are not pleased that they do not disclose complete ingredient lists on the company website. Without this information, it is impossible to know whether the Provida formulas are safe and effective. Consumers would be better off shopping with companies that provide this information consistently and clearly so consumers can make savvy choices about their weight loss products prior to purchasing them.
