Nutriworks Patch-It Review
What You Should Know
Nutriworks Patch-It is a stick-on patch product, meant to detoxify the body by stimulating acupressure points on the feet using far-infrared energy generated by tourmaline. It is an Asian product only recently available in the West. Some of the supposed benefits are: healthy blood circulation, removal of toxins, more relaxed sleep, and balancing of internal energies.
List of Ingredients
Nutriworks Patch-It contains wood vinegar, Tourmaline, and Germanium.
Product Features
Nutriworks is a Hong Kong-based company that specializes in health and wellness products like the Nutriworks Patch-It. Nutriworks Patch-It comes in boxes of 6 and 20 pieces, with the smaller box worth around USD 19 and the larger box going for about USD 45. Prices can be significantly cheaper from various online sellers, and stocks are limited outside of Asia. They are meant to be applied one on each foot every night, just before sleeping. The effects are said to be felt in the morning.
Wood vinegar and tourmaline are traditionally-used ingredients in Chinese herbal medicine and other traditional medicinal systems. Other ingredients in this product are those used in the manufacture of the patch.
Wood vinegar is acidic, and can provide some anti-bacterial effect. It does smell sour though, so users must be prepared for this. Tourmaline is a crystalline semi-precious stone that occurs in many colors and shapes. It has some unusual properties, particularly in its emission of electromagnetic energy, specifically far-infrared rays and minute amounts of electricity. Germanium is generally considered toxic to humans, so the U.S. Food and Drug Administration have flagged it as potentially hazardous when used in health supplements. Germanium is usually used in semiconductors and electrical applications and not in health products. Germanium compounds can irritate the eyes, lungs, throat, and skin. Some compounds with this element are only slightly toxic to humans but deadly against some bacteria, so they are used as chemotherapeutic agents.
Pro’s
- All natural ingredients.
- Convenient peel-and-stick application.
- User reviews posted on the manufacturerÃs website.
Con’s
- One main ingredient, Germanium, has been identified as deleterious to human health.
- Risk of side effects.
- Not FDA approved.
- Can irritate certain body organs.
- Not easily available, stocks limited.
- Seems to introduce a toxin into the body instead of, or while removing internal toxins.
Conclusion
The trend in the West seems to be the search for health supplements based on the ancient knowledge of the East. Nutriworks Patch-It is supposedly based on the ancient Chinese principles of acupressure. ThatÃs well and good, but the inclusion of Germanium, an element known to be toxic seems to undermine the claims of this product. It is supposed to remove harmful substances in your body, not introduce them. The length of administration is also not clear, considering this is supposed to be a quick-detoxification item. All in all, this is a dubious product at best.
