In Garcinia Cambogia, the Hydroxycitric Acid is thought to inhibit the body’s ability to store fat. The body then, supposedly, passes the extra fat out through bowel movements instead of storing this fat on various parts of the body. The Hydroxycitric Acid in Garcinia Cambogia is also thought to increase the body’s natural fat burning by causing the body to utilize stored fat as the immediate source of energy when exercising. The third claim states that the increase in serotonin occurring after taking Hydroxycitric Acid causes the body to suppress the appetite.
The dosage of Hydroxycitric Acid has been studied at 250 mg up to 1000 mg. Garcinia Cambogia contains about 50 mg of Hydroxycitric Acid per serving. Hydroxycitric Acid is to be taken one half hour before each meal. There are no known side effects related to the use of Hydroxycitric Acid as a part of a weight loss supplement. Scientific studies have not proven the efficacy of Hydroxycitric Acid in weight loss. The claims listed above are those listed for Garcinia Cambogia which contains Hydroxycitric Acid. The ingredient Garcinia Cambogia is included in many weight loss supplements and is currently offered for sale as a standalone product on various websites. The product is offered as Citrimax and retails for as little as $7.95 for a 30 day supply.
