Gold Coast Cure Review
What You Should Know
The Gold Coast Cure is a 5 week health and fitness makeover program that is based on eating whole foods and exercise. Written by Dr. Andrew Larson, MD, FACS, he has special interests in surgical nutrition. Along with his wife Ivy, they came up with this overall diet that is based on a whole food, balanced diet with exercise. He was the co-author of Chicken Soup for the Soul Healthy Living: Weight Loss in 2005, so he does have experience in the diet arena.
Basically, the diet is based on a book that furnishes healthy recipes and doesnít push any certain products, other than the authorís books. It is based on eating whole foods, versus over-processed or packaged foods, so basically it is a common sense, lower carbohydrate diet, since carbohydrates tend to fall under the over-processed category that is responsible for weight gain.
The other primary thing is the testimonials involve exercise for tightening muscles, and better hair and nail condition, but none of them involve extreme weight losses, 6 pounds here, 10 pounds there. Most of the mention inches lost, which would be a result of the exercise, and not the food eaten.
List of Ingredients
Not applicable, since this diet is based on eating whole foods from all food groups. They donít mention any fat burning or thermogenic ingredients, so most of the fat burning is done the old-fashioned way- exercising, for those that have the time.
Product Features
The diet is based on the book, which is a 5 week crash course on health and fitness. Obviously, they are not talking about this as a lifestyle change, and the site doesnít show any before and after pictures, but does have some testimonials. None of the testimonials mention very large weight losses, but more about firming up, which would be due to the exercise portion of the plan, versus the diet.
Pro’s
- The Gold Coast Cure diet is based on eating whole foods and exercise. Basically a common sense diet for maintaining weight, but improving body tone, versus a weight loss diet, written by a doctor.
- Uses basic whole food ingredients.
- The main expense is the book, which lists recipe ideas and a ìbalancedî plate template to carry out the balanced diet idea.
Con’s
- This diet is a 5 week crash course, which really isnít a dramatic weight loss diet, but more of an exercise to health program.
- You could probably do the same thing on your own, without the book.
- There are no fat burning ingredients to speed up the metabolism and weight loss.
- There are no before and after pictures, so itís hard to see what the results to the testimonials really are.
- There are better products on the market for quicker and more substantial weight loss for those that need to lose more than a few pounds.
Conclusion
This is a common sense, healthy eating, exercise program, that is a body makeover based on toning and eating sensibly. It doesnít have much substance to recommend the book, other than the author is a doctor, so it is based on basic nutrition and exercise.
