Cellulean Review
What You Should Know
Unlike many weight loss aids that we look at on this website, Cellulean is actually a topical cream. According to the product’s manufacturers, Cellulean is specifically formulated to help reduce cellulite in targeted areas. Cellulite can be a problem for many, particularly women, since these areas of dimpled fat often don’t respond to traditional exercise. Cellulean is not the only cellulite cream on the market by any means, but it is one of the most popular so we will take a closer look at it.
Cellulean became the subject of a lot of media attention after publicly claiming a 78% success rate. In the same press release, Cellulean also claimed to have reduced that the average user actually lost 2 inches of fat by using the product as directed. This claim as picked up by several major media outlets, including Elle, and the ABC Network in Los Angeles. Cellulean claims that its use of the active ingredient Aminophylline is what sets it apart for many other cellulite treatments currently on the market. Users are claimed to see results after using the product for 30 days.
Ingredients
Cellulean is made of: Aminophylline, Soy Lecithin Liposomes, Green Tea, Aloe Vera, Ginko Biloba, Phosphatidyl Choline, Grape Seed Extract, Linalool Lavendar, Hedera Helix Ivy, Vitamin A, Menthol, Capsaicin, Macadmia Nut, Tilia Cordata, Allantoin, Fennel Seed, Vitamin E, Horse Chestnut, Horsetail Extract, Seaweed Extract, Shea Butter, Bladderwrack, Cupressus.
Product Features
Cellulean is rather expensive, at $69.99 for a 6 oz. container of the topical cream. The usage directions instruct users to generously massage the cream into problem areas twice daily, and the 6 oz. supply is intended to last the average user approximately one month. Of course, no specifications are given as to how large an area of cellulite this number has been calculated for. There is also a trial size container of Cellulean available, but there is still a $10 charge for this.
Aminophylline is the main active ingredient in Cellulean. It is a fairly well-documented muscle relaxant, although it is most commonly found in asthma medications. However, it is unclear how well studied this ingredient is when it comes to external topical use. Additionally, Cellulean includes several mild sources of caffeine intended to compliment the Aminophylline, and we could also find little evidence that this was effective topically either.
Advantages
- There is a $10 trial size sample of Cellulean available.
- The topical nature of this product makes it pretty easy to use.
Disadvantages
- We could find little topical evidence of the effectiveness of Aminophylilne when applied topically and externally.
- This is a treatment for small or medium sized patches of cellulite, and won’t really facilitate long-term weight loss.
- Using Cellulean could get pretty expensive in the long-term and it’s unclear how permanent results are claimed to be.
Conclusion
In terms of weight loss, cellulite is not typically a primary concern. Clearing up unsightly Cellulite is often a natural secondary effect of healthy weight loss from diet and exercise, and we would recommend following a supplement-assisted plan and letting that take care of both your cellulite and your extra pounds. However, if you’re currently at your desired weight level and still suffering from cellulite, Cellulean could be worth trying out.
