When caffeine is added to cellulite cream the space between the fat cells that hold on to water are reduced. This is due to the diuretic effect of caffeine. The fat cells themselves are not changed by the caffeine, but the leeching of water out of the body makes the skin appear less lumpy and more smooth.

In addition to the caffeine, the green tea extract is used in many topical cellulite creams. There is the added benefit of a bit more caffeine, but some people think the green tea soaks into the skin and offers a boost to the metabolism.

There is little information on the Kukui Nut Oil aside from the rejuvenation properties of the oil. It is often sold as a massage oil which does little for the reduction of cellulite.

The problem with cellulite creams is the effect of the cream is not long lasting.
